Assuming that the phrase "We Need to Do More: Magical Thinking" can be interpreted in different ways, Paky Vlassopoulou opts to adopt the definition of magical thinking associated with children's ability to immerse themselves in fantastical imaginary worlds. This concept aids children in developing the capacity to perceive and interact with the world from diverse perspectives. By embracing magical thinking, children can explore imaginative realms and begin to understand and engage with reality in nuanced ways. The artist's proposal is to revisit this state of mind and create shelters for various creatures, fostering a sense of security and belonging.

Λαμβάνοντας υπόψη την πολυδιάστατη ερμηνεία της φράσης «Πρέπει να κάνουμε περισσότερα: μαγική σκέψη», η Πάκυ Βλασσοπούλου αγκαλιάζει την έννοια της μαγικής σκέψης που συνδέεται με τη βύθιση των παιδιών σε φανταστικούς και μυθικούς κόσμους. Αυτή η κατανόηση διευκολύνει την ανάπτυξη της ικανότητας των παιδιών να αντιλαμβάνονται και να αλληλεπιδρούν με τον κόσμο από διαφορετικές οπτικές γωνίες. Μέσω του ενστερνισμού της «μαγικής σκέψης», τα παιδιά μπορούν να εξερευνήσουν φανταστικούς κόσμους, προωθώντας εκλεπτυσμένες ερμηνείες της πραγματικότητας. Σύμφωνα με αυτήν την έννοια, η καλλιτέχνης επανεξετάζει την ψυχική μας κατάσταση, δημιουργώντας καταφύγια για διάφορα πλάσματα, με στόχο το αίσθημα της ασφάλειας.

Looking at double-frozen images; when the stiffened humanness of the mannequins are themselves photographed and taken out of motion. Similar to the doubling of the moment when photography bursts forth and we are presented with an arrested image, stopping cinematographic time, or rather blending the has-been-ness of the photograph with the nowness of cinema. And there might be another kind of condensation, when we consider that parts of the montages in this exhibition have already been photographed in a museum. Their compositions have been museumized and are well familiar, even if, or especially if, in this case, when we might find ourselves in the shadowy realm of an after-hour.

Κοιτώντας τις επαναλαμβανόμενες παγωμένες στο χρόνο εικόνες, παρατηρούμε την ακαμψία της ανθρώπινης μορφής των μανεκέν, καθώς εκείνη απαθανατίζεται από τον φωτογραφικό φακό. Κάτι παρόμοιο παρατηρούμε και τη στιγμή που μια φωτογραφία εμφανίζεται, παρουσιάζοντας ένα στιγμιότυπο, σταματώντας τον κινηματογραφικό χρόνο, ή μάλλον αναμιγνύοντας το παρελθόν της φωτογραφίας με το παρόν του κινηματογράφου. Αν λάβουμε υπόψη μας ότι μέρη των προς έκθεση φωτογραφιών είναι κομμάτι μοντάζ, καθώς ήδη έχουν φωτογραφηθεί σε ένα μουσείο, εισερχόμαστε σε μια άλλη πραγματικότητα. Οι συνθέσεις των έργων διαθέτουν ταυτόχρονα έναν οικείο αλλά και ένα μουσειοποιημένο χαρακτήρα.

Embark on a contemporary art exploration as Callirrhoë proudly collaborates with Georg Kargl Fine Arts to present "Bringing Owls from Athens." This exhibition transcends borders, offering a fresh perspective from the vibrant and current contemporary Greek art scene. The group show at Georg Kargl BOX aims to export more than just owls; it showcases a curated selection of valuable contributions from contemporary Greek artists to the Viennese audience. Serving as a bridge between contemporary cultures, it unfolds as an exploration of fresh artistic narratives. The core of the exhibition consists of nine artists mainly based in Athens and three artists based in Vienna, fostering a cultural exchange that invites audiences to delve into the evolving narratives and perspectives, especially of contemporary Greek art. The synergy between these two vibrant artistic communities promises to create an atmosphere of anticipation. "Bringing Owls from Athens" is not merely an exhibition; it's a dialogue between artistic expressions, a convergence of diverse perspectives, and an invitation to dive deeper into the exhibited artists.

H Callirrhoë με μεγάλη χαρά συνεργάζεται με την γκαλερί της Βίεννης, Georg Kargl Fine Arts, για την παρουσίαση της έκθεσης "Bringing Owls from Athens". Η έκθεση ξεπερνά σύνορα, προσφέροντας μια φρέσκια οπτική γωνία από τη ζωντανή και σύγχρονη ελληνική καλλιτεχνική σκηνή. Η ομαδική έκθεση στο Georg Kargl BOX στοχεύει να παρουσιάσει μια επιλογή αξιόλογων σύγχρονων Ελλήνων καλλιτεχνών στο κοινό της Βιέννης, δρώντας ως γέφυρα μεταξύ σύγχρονων πολιτισμών και καλλιτεχνικών αφηγήσεων. Τον πυρήνα της έκθεσης αποτελούν εννέα καλλιτέχνες, με έδρα τους κυρίως την Αθήνα, και τρείς καλλιτέχνες με έδρα τους τη Βιέννη. Αυτή η σύμπραξη ενθαρρύνει μια πολιτιστική ανταλλαγή και προσκαλεί το κοινό να εξερευνήσει τις εξελισσόμενες καλλιτεχνικές αφηγήσεις, ιδιαίτερα της σύγχρονης ελληνικής τέχνης. Η συνεργία μεταξύ αυτών των δύο καλλιτεχνικών κοινοτήτων υπόσχεται να δημιουργήσει ένα συναίσθημα προσμονής. Είναι ένας διάλογος μεταξύ καλλιτεχνικών εκφράσεων, μια σύγκλιση διαφορετικών οπτικών γωνιών, και μια πρόσκληση να κατανοηθεί βαθύτερα στο έργο των καλλιτεχνών που παρουσιάζονται.
